Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM)
Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, also abbreviated as UTHM is a public university that is situated in Batu Pahat, Johar, Malaysia. This institute in its past days was known by the name Pusat Latihan Staf Politeknik (PLSP). The new name of the university was set afloat by the education minister, Dato' Seri Hishammuddin Bin Tun Hussein on 2 March, 2007.
The institute was founded on 16 September, 1993 and was administered with association of Unversiti Teknologi Malaysia and Ministry of Education Malaysia. The principal aim of the institute was to harvest polytechnics in fields of engineering. In later times, the institute was credited to produce human power in technical learning. On 27 September, 2000 university-college status was rewarded to the institute by Malaysian government. The institute was then called Kolej Univrsiti Teknologi Tun Hussein Onn (KUiTTHO). Finally, on September 20th, 2006 it gained the full university rank.
Like other universities, this university also has its vision, mission and motto. The university seeks to be the forerunner in developing the applications in field of science as well as in technology thereby, enhancing universal fortune, success and affluence. The sole mission of the university is to crop the professionals with sound knowledge of technology through all-inclusive academic plans. The university has a motto that exploration can be done only with the wisdom.
The university offers many academic programmes to students related to science and technology. Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electric and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Technical Education, Technology Management and Information Technology and Multimedia are major courses that university provides.
The university promises the quality and has made some objectives for it. It makes sure that the academic plans should be according to the industry needs. It sees that the allocated faculty to the particular course should be well equipped with the knowledge and training is provided to the faculty to timely enhance their skills and potential.
